Eden Presides at a Talk on How Special Subsidiaries May Increase Employment Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities The talk, presided over by Eden, saw representatives from the academia, public sector, and corporations contribute to discussions of international scale. In December, 2012, Eden Social Welfare Foundation presided at a talk on how the Japanese model of special subsidiaries may help create more employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. With the aim of increasing employment opportunities for Taiwan’s persons with disabilities, the talk, held at National Chengchi University Center for Public and Business Administration Education, saw representatives from the academia, public sector, and corporations contribute to the discussions on relevant legislations and possible practices of both local and international scales.     During the talk, Mr. Joa Song Hwang, CEO of Eden Social Welfare Foundation, remarked that special subsidiaries provided practical alternatives to sheltered workshops, social enterprises, and many other attempts to increase employment opportunities among persons with disabilities. Eden Wool Felt Workshop Creates Employment Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities     Hand-made felted soap, endowed with the moisturizing quality of handcrafted soap bar as well as hand and body exfoliator, is a featured product at Eden Wool Felt Workshop. To help people with disabilities in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, obtain economic support and career opportunities, Eden Social Welfare Development Center opened its Eden Wool Felt Workshop in October 2012 at Jinjiang District of Chengdu. Three months to its inauguration in 2012, the career training program of Eden Wool Felt Workshop has succeeded in engaging participants with speech impairments, intellectual disabilities, and hearing disabilities in the production of handmade crafts while persons with visual impairments remain steadfastly a majority of its trainees. A wide variety of handmade artworks of Eden Wool Felt Workshop are attentively made for you to choose from that cater to your different needs. There are wool felt cases that come in different sizes, shapes, and colors for your cell phones, iPads and other handheld electronic devices. There are also wool felt shoes and hats suitable for both men and women of all ages and an elegant collection of wool felt hair accessories for every hairstyle.
